Why is the Institute of Coaching connected to McLean Hospital, an Affiliate of Harvard Medical School?

Due to Dr. Carol Kauffman's long tenure at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School, we were delighted by their offer to support the Institute's infrastructure. Most Institutes need to share up to 60% of their donations with their parent organziation. The McLean Development Office offered us a vastly reduced percentage, thus allowing our donations go directly to our education and research efforts.

Does the Institute collaborate and partner on research projects?

No. The Institute of Coaching funds research only. We do not conduct nor partner with any individuals or institutions in a research project. Please visit our Research and Grants page to learn more.

I would like to present at your Coaching in Leadership and Healthcare Conference, how do I submit my materials?

If you are a researcher and would like to participate in our oral presentations and poster competition, please review our Conference page for application process and deadlines. If you are looking to present a track or a keynote, the process is typically by invitation only from one of our Course Directors. Harvard Medical School requires a majority of the presenters have Harvard faculty appointments.

Do you offer special membership discounts to students?

Regretfully, we are not able to offer student discounts. If you are a member of one of our sponsor organizations there may be a special rate, please contact us to find out more.

Do you offer those in developing countries a discount?

At this time we are not able to offer any discounts other than those affiliated with our sponsors.

Do I have to apply to become a Fellow or Affiliate member? Am I required to have any medical training or other professional credentials?
