A Founding IOC Fellow, Barrett McBride, PhD, MCC, has been coaching professionally for over 20 years. She is CEO of Barrett McBride & Associates, a leadership & executive coaching, supervision and management consulting firm.

Barrett’s portfolio includes coaching and coach supervision, leadership development of senior leaders and leadership teams, organizational development, change management, coach training and development, and research.

Coaching & Coaching Supervision

Barrett has an international coaching supervision practice that includes leadership, executive and health and wellness coaches. She also supervises external coaches whom she has matched with organizational clients. She embraces the philosophy of full spectrum supervision in her work with coaches and uses many supervision techniques in her work with leaders.

Barrett coaches physician leaders and leadership teams, as well as senior administrative health care leaders.   She has a strengths-based philosophy that has proven successful in helping senior leaders expand their personal effectiveness.

Barrett utilizes a number of assessments as appropriate and is always open to using programs developed by client organizations, including 360 reviews, climate studies, culture-based assessments and others.

Organizational Development

Barrett’s organizational development practice includes organization diagnosis, design and implementation of change related efforts. She helps leaders plan for, implement, and manage structural and cultural change.

She facilitates strategic planning, as well as assessing climate, culture, readiness to change and team building. She also facilitates retreats and other developmental programs for teams.

Teaching & Training

Barrett  is  a faculty member for Wellcoaches, Inc., where she teaches in both the basic coach training and professional coach training programs. 

Education, Credentials & Certifications

Barrett has a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University. She also holds Masters Degrees in Human Development and Organization Development.

Barrett is a Certified  Coach Supervisor (CSA) and an ICF Master Certified Coach, a mastery level that only 6% of ICF-certified coaches possess worldwide. She has a master certification in evidence-based coaching, and is an ICF-registered mentor coach.

She is a certified MBTI provider, a certified Prosci change management practitioner and has administrative LEAN certification. She is a certified mediator and certified to administer 360 leadership assessments for The Leadership Circle and Hogan Assessments.
