Matthias Lichtblau, Ph.D., is the Global Chief Operating Officer at WTS Global and Partner at WTS Germany, one of the largest and leading tax consulting networks in the world.Matthias has more than 20 years of experience in the international management of professional service firms (namely Clifford Chance, CMS) before joining WTS as a partner in October 2021.

Prior to moving to WTS, he was the Global Executive Director of the international law firm CMS for eight years. Under his watch CMS revenue doubled to € 1.5 billion and 15 more countries (e.g., from Latin America and Africa) joined the CMS organization.

Matthias holds an MBA from the University of Mannheim (Germany) and an Executive MBA from Said Business School, University of Oxford (UK). He is author and speaker on professional service firm management topics. In addition, he is also a lecturer in the MBA program at the University St. Gallen, Executive School of Management, Technology and Law (Switzerland). At CMS, he created and implemented a global coaching program that won the international ICF Coaching Award in 2018.
