Sean O'Connor

Sean O’Connor is a Leadership Development Coach, Lecturer and Researcher at the Sydney University’s Coaching Psychology Unit. Over the last few years he has been working alongside a team of highly skilled leadership development professionals on one of the world’s largest evidence-based leadership development research projects testing a new leadership model and program for leadership development in one of Australia’s largest law firms and a network of hospitals.

Sean has keen interest in social network analysis, systems theory, creativity and group dynamics. As part of his PhD, in 2012 Sean completed the first research project worldwide assessing, through social network analysis, the impact that leadership development coaching can have on the well-being of individuals across the wider organization.

Sean received substantial support for this project through the Harnisch research scholarship and has recently been awarded best emerging researcher presentation at the 3rd Australian Positive Psychology and Wellbeing Conference. Sean has been intimately involved in the creation of the Handbook of Coaching through Standards Australia and has a passion for leadership coaching and organizational development and actively supports and consults to a large range of corporations and community projects.
