Greg Pawlson
Greg Pawlson is a physician and executive who has held senior leadership positions in academic medicine and with nonprofits such as NCQA and BCBSA. He is the co-author of two books and more than one hundred peer reviewed papers. Since leaving academics, he has been involved in executive coaching and leadership development.
Greg is a Hudson Institute certified executive and life coach. As part of his interest in coaching, he obtained certification in Positive Psychology, Resilience and Grit from the Center for Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, in the use of the KELP assessment by the Institute for Experimental Learning and for Trauma Informed Coaching from Lodestar Coaching.
He is currently active with the Institute for Experiential Learning, senior advisor and faculty for leadership and life skills course for Geriatric Palliative Care Fellows through Mt Sinai. Greg is also senior faculty with Lodestar Coaching, and an executive coach with the Center for Leadership at UCSF, and the National Academy of Sciences. Finally, he is a leader in the development of a Handbook for Leadership and Coaching as a Professional Fellow of the Institute of Coaching-Harvard McClean Hospital.
Greg currently holds academic appointments as a Clinical Professor in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and as an adjunct professor in the School of Nursing at George Washington University. He and his wife, Jean Johnson, PhD, FAAN, have four children, eight grandchildren, have co-authored a book, and created and implemented a Cousera based course on Leadership for Quality and Safety that has had more than 50,000 users.
