Summary:

For coaches, establishing a niche can help you find new clients, build your credibility, and provide a sense of fulfillment within your career. In today’s episode of Coaching Revealed, a panel of coaches and IOC Members, Jenny Huang, Hannah Field, and Ali Farquhar are interviewed by IOC Podcast Host Austin Matzelle about their individual coaching journey’s towards establishing a niche.

Each panelist shares their journey towards their niche, with Jenny Huang responding to needs within the U.S. based Chinese community when she noticed how many Chinese women and startup founders were feeling isolated.

Hannah Field found coaching after spending her first career in V.C. companies, and experiencing how revolutionary and transformative coaching can be. Ali Farquhar found her journey in leadership development after helping raise children with significant mental health challenges, a journey that helped prepare her to work in the biotechnology space.

For the panelists, finding a niche organically is a shared experience. For Jenny it was needs that emerged from her own community, and Hannah and Ali both cite how working and existing within the fields they now coach adds credibility, and helps organically build networks of clients whether it be within venture capital or biotechnology.

The conversation dives into how each of the coaches journeyed into finding their niche, building up client bases, and how they interact within their niche today.
