The Developmental Opportunities and Challenges of Pro Bono Coaching

As coaches and supervisors, we are never the finished article; there is always room for growth and further development. How do we achieve this growth and development when we often serve specific niches with coachees who usually come from similar backgrounds and have similar issues? This session explores deepening your coaching practice through ‘pro- and low-bono’ coaching. Drawing on our IOC and ICF research, we share insights on how coaches (from the novice to the master) benefit from undertaking ‘pro- and low-bono’ coaching. We will explore how you manage coaching for social and community impact alongside other coaching, supervision, and developmental commitments.

Participants will:

  • Learn about the scale and scope of ‘pro- and low-bono’ coaching for social impact and the development of the coaching profession.
  • Reflect on and evaluate the challenges of ‘pro- and low-bono' coaching in challenging social, political, and environmental contexts.
  • Find out how to maximize personal and professional development through ‘pro- and low-bono’ coaching.
