Most coach training programs emphasize interpersonal skills, models and procedures, and personal development work such as ethical decision making. There has been, to date, a relative absence of systematic attention to emotional states-- on the part of both the coach and the coachee-- as it occurs during session. In this presentation Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener will present background information on emotion research, results from a survey of coaches, and specific emotion tools that extend past traditional approaches to emotional intelligence.
