Wellcoaches Corporation was founded by IOC’s co-founder, Margaret Moore who has donated a day a week to co-leading the Institute since IOC started in 2010. Wellcoaches launched the first School of Coaching for health professionals in 2002, and has developed a gold standard for professional health and wellness coaches, who are expert facilitators of the psychological processes of change that generate sustainable lifestyles which prevent or treat disease and foster health and well-being. Together, we are making a significant dent in some of the toughest challenges of our times: the epidemics of obesity, diabetes, sedentary lifestyles, poor nutrition, chronic stress, distracted minds, and ever-rising healthcare costs.
Since 2002, Wellcoaches has trained more than 12,000 coaches in 50 countries. Wolters Kluwer publishes the Wellcoaches Coaching Psychology Manual, now in its 2nd edition, a foundation resource for the field. Wellcoaches also delivers training in coaching basics to support a coaching culture in healthcare at all levels – leaders, physicians, and everyone on the front line of patient-centered care and health promotion.
