Dr. Ginger Raya is an accomplished healthcare leader, educator, and certified career coach with over 20 years of experience in healthcare management, education, and leadership development. As the Center Leader of the George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management and an Associate Professor at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, Dr. Raya is dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals and executives to excel in their careers and achieve their personal and professional goals.

Before joining UTHealth, Dr. Raya served as the Director of Physician Services at HCA Healthcare, where she specialized in ambulatory operations, overseeing the acquisition, employment, and management of healthcare providers and their practices. In this role, she managed a $68 million book of business, leading efforts to optimize physician practices, improve operational efficiencies, and enhance patient care across multiple locations. Her leadership was instrumental in driving performance improvements, ensuring quality standards, and aligning physician practices with broader organizational goals.

Dr. Raya holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University, a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also certified in coaching for leadership, mindfulness, and physician competencies through the Institute of Coaching and Harvard Medical School.

A recognized leader in the field, Dr. Raya serves as the 2024-2025 Chair of the El Paso Chamber Healthcare Coalition and President-Elect of the Southwest Healthcare Executives Association, a local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). In 2024, Dr. Raya was honored with the People's Choice Award at the UTHealth Houston El Paso Hooding Ceremony, recognizing her profound impact on students and the community. She was also recognized as a 2024 Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) Woman of Distinction for her outstanding contributions to Texas’s economic, political, and social landscape.
