Jane is an expert in inclusion and diversity, purpose-driven leadership, and career transitions.  She is the founder of The Horan Group, helping organizations build inclusive workplaces and  working with individuals on career purpose.  Jane is an internationally recognized speaker and author of I Wish I’d Known That Earlier in My Career: The Power of Positive Workplace Politics, a business book used by corporate universities and career coaches globally. She is also the author of How Asian Women Lead: Lessons for Global Corporations, based on her doctoral research, using storytelling to show new perspectives on the future of leadership and careers.  Her recent book, Now Its Clear, The Career You Own, based on doctoral research and practical experience working with executives. Her new book, Career Coaching Across Cultures, how to navigate organizational complexity, will be published in Fall 2022.

Jane has written articles on transformational, finding purpose,  navigating workplace politics and building inclusion for Bloomberg Business Week, Quartz, Association of Talent Development, South China Morning Post, Straits Times and other publications.

With over 25 years of work experience with companies such as Kraft, Disney and GE, Jane uses her work knowledge to help organizations build inclusive and engaged workplaces. Her consulting work includes Fortune 500 firms. Through her advisory work, coaching  and workshops, Jane provides both sound advice and practical tools to help organizations retain and engage talent.  

She is a Distinguished Research Fellow and Program Director for The Conference Board’s Asia Gender Equity and Talent Diversity Councils,  Visiting Research Associate with Hong Kong University, lectured in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. Jane has lived, worked and studied in the US, China and Hong Kong, and holds an Educational Doctorate from Bristol University. She lives in Singapore and Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
