Melissa Pumo brings over 20 years of educational experience to her position of co-owner, Chief Operating Officer and Personalized Strategy Coach of Constructive Learning Design, an organization that provides design thinking to schools and districts to support their goals for student success and teacher effectiveness.  She serves on the board of directors for HopeTree Family Services, an agency that provides educational and support services to at-risk youth and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout Virginia.  Melissa formerly worked as an instructional coach, master coach, and Director of Career Academy Development in North Carolina. Prior to this, she spent 17 years as a classroom teacher with a focus on early literacy in high needs schools. Before beginning her career as an educator, Melissa worked in television advertising. She earned a bachelor's degree in radio, television and film at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds a master's degree in education from UNC-Greensboro and an administrative degree from High Point University. She has been a national board certified teacher since 2002.  Melissa is also a certified life coach and published her first book last year, What Are You Craving? A Step-by-Step Guide to Designing the Life You Were Meant to Live.
