Sarah MacKay Lynch, M.A., is a certified Parent Coach, former high school teacher and the mother of a 22 year old daughter. Sarah has been through the residential treatment journey with her own family. She combines this background with current research and her work with hundreds of parents in the SF Bay Area and beyond to assist struggling families.

Sarah works collaboratively with parents to create the awareness, structures and support necessary to begin the process of healing relationships between parents and their teen and young adult children. Sarah’s parenting credo is “Connection before Correction,” and her mission is to promote a healthy, balanced, and loving connection within families.

In addition to parent coaching, Sarah is a regular co-facilitator of Willows in the Wind support groups as well as Oakland-based Family Sanity support groups for parents. Sarah also co-leads Transition Support Workshops with Willows in the Wind and Coyote Coast Youth and Family Counseling. She runs online support groups for parents and teaches the nationally recognized Family Connections Course, a DBT-based class offered through NEABPD.

Sarah received her BA at UC Berkeley, her teaching credential at Holy Names College, and her MA in TESOL at the School for International Training (SIT) in Brattleboro, VT. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation.
