Rony Abovitz is a Senior Advisor and Executive Coach at Boston Consulting Group. With a background in surgical robotics, health care, spatial computing/extended reality (XR), AI, and advanced technologies, he has a strong history of building successful and forward-looking businesses from the ground up.

Rony is passionate about creating companies that will make a difference. At BCG, Rony advises CEOs and C-suite teams—from growth tech to Fortune 50 companies—as well as government leaders. He cofounded MAKO Surgical, a world leader in surgical robotics that went public in 2008 and was acquired in 2013 by Stryker Corp for $1.65 billion. In addition, he founded Magic Leap, Inc., a world leader in XR/spatial computing technologies in 2011. Magic Leap has developed one of the world’s leading spatial computing systems. The flagship system, the Magic Leap 2, recently won the IF Gold Design Award and the Red Dot Gold Design Award, and was named Best In Show at the AWE 2022.

Rony also has founded two new stealth startups: Sun and Thunder and SynthBee, Inc. Sun and Thunder produced its first animated short film, Yellow Dove Aftermath, which has toured film festivals around the world, winning awards for best animation, sound, music, and visuals.
