Statement on the War in the Middle East

The Institute of Coaching stands for elevating humanity and the presence of good, peace, and non-violence in the world. We are heartbroken to learn of the tragedies that have unfolded over the weekend in the Middle East. We recognize the political complexities affiliated with the situation, but strongly believe that violence, condoning violence, and celebrating violence are never acceptable. Our hearts go out to all of the Israelis and Palestinians who are impacted both directly and indirectly, and who are, have been, or will be put in harms way.

Now more than ever, we as coaches have a vital role to play. Coaching serves as a crucial catalyst for bettering humanity, by providing safe spaces for difficult conversations, promoting non-violent communication, fostering psychological safety, and addressing biases. It encourages the development of leadership, resilience, and empathy, which collectively contribute to a more empowered and compassionate society capable of addressing human rights issues and violations, advocating for justice, and facilitating constructive dialogue to resolve complex issues.

In this time of heightened conflict and despair we call upon our community to help our clients, loved ones, neighbors and our selves cope, heal, and promote the ultimate goal of global unity, peace and prosperity for all.
