Organizational Psychologist Dr. Gena Yuvette Davis is the founder and CEO of True Synergy, Inc., a boutique professional and organizational development consulting company based in Los Angeles, CA. 

True Synergy specializes in corporate culture change, people operations, and behavioral transformation for high-growth and progressive companies nationwide. Dr. Gena is also an international speaker, executive coach, corporate trainer, author, and advocate for social change and equality. 

Having a strong belief in the Use of Self methodology, a focus on the intersectionality of race and gender, and a concentration on Self and Being for women, Dr. Gena launched her new social communication and media brand, Dr. Gena Yuvette Davis Media (aka Dr. Gena Media) in 2020. 

Dr. Gena Media provides opportunities for communications, community engagement, specialized programming, and professional services for successful corporate women and female business owners who want to focus on self-care and wellness while building their confidence, credibility, influence, and career advancement.  

As an expert in behavioral-based change, people operations, internal branding strategy, and DEIBAJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, Accessibility and Justice), Dr. Gena uses various methodologies, principles, philosophies, practices, and tools from the applied behavioral and social sciences to support systemic changes in a growing organization.  She also helps executive leaders and their teams by using proven interventions that take a cognitive, experiential, and aspirational approach to understand one’s essence and awareness of Self to shift mindsets and improve behavior within organizational systems.

As a keynote speaker, corporate trainer, and workshop facilitator, Dr. Gena speaks to audiences globally, both online and onsite, and shares her rich messages with practical tips, strategies, tools, and motivating advice participants can start implementing that day. 

Dr. Gena's corporate background includes 18 years as a marketing communications executive and senior consultant. She led strategic marketing, public relations, advertising, and branding programs for the entertainment and retail shopping center industries.  Dr. Gena held roles at Sony Pictures Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, and Fox Entertainment Group, as well as owning her own marketing communications agency for seven years. 

For three years, Dr. Gena produced and directed an awarding-winning fashion magazine show called "Simply Vogue" that aired to 90,000 viewers each week on local cable television in Los Angeles.

Dr. Gena is a University of Southern California graduate with a BA in Communication Arts & Sciences, an MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix, and a PsyD in Organization Development from the California School for Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, Fresno.  She is also an alumna of Cornell University’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Program, received a business certificate of completion from Harvard University’s The Science of Wellbeing course, and has a certificate in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica (USM).

Dr. Gena is a board-certified coach (BCC) and received her certification from the Center for Credentialing and Education. She received her coaching training and certification from the Certified Coach Federation (CCF).  She is a certified Everything DiSC® trainer and is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).  

Dr. Gena is the author of the two forthcoming books, Image is Everything: Eight Ways Successful Women Can Have a Positive Self-Image and Making Your Culture Match Your Brand: How Successful Companies Thrive in An Ever-Emerging Future.

Finally, Dr. Gena is a member of several professional, civic, and service-based organizations, including the National Speakers Association (NSA), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, ODinLA, Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), American Psychological Association (APA), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and Black Women Scholars & Practitioners Collective (BWSPC). Dr. Gena is also a proud and dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
