Alice Obermiller is the Director of Experiential Learning and Leadership Development for Graduate Programs at Mendoza. She leads the department responsible for overseeing project-based content and leadership development curriculum in the Executive Programs, MBA, and Specialized Masters. She serves as the Advisor for the Mendoza Professional Services group and the MBA Management & Leadership Club and has general oversight for case and business competitions. Alice also teaches in the Women in Leadership Certificate course offered by Mendoza Executive Education, leading the content on Leveraging Networks and Building Strong Relationships.


Alice started in Graduate Business Programs in 2017. Prior to joining Notre Dame, she worked for the Chicago Booth School of Business in MBA leadership development for 17.5 years, focusing predominantly on facilitated MBA learning experiences and simulations and content in conflict management, personality, group process, and team dynamics. Her experiences at the University of Chicago includes leadership programming for the Law School, the Pritzker School of Medicine, the Harris School of Public Policy, and the University’s Collegiate Scholars Program.

Prior to academia, Alice spent 13 years in the corporate sector working for Fortune 500 technology and insurance companies, startup enterprises in education and energy technology, as well as healthcare.

She received her B.A. in Education from Purdue University, an M.S. in Organizational Development with Honors from Loyola University, and completed qualitative coursework and research on Organizational Climate as part of her doctoral studies in Management and Sustainable Systems Design at Case Western Reserve University. Alice is also a Certified Master Coach with 20 years of coaching experience.

In addition to her professional experience, Alice serves on the board of the Global Alliance for Africa in Chicago and has provided support to sustainable development and microfinance projects in East Africa, including significant time coaching and advising micro-enterprises in the field.
